The Financial Sector Advisory Council

The Financial Sector Advisory Council (FSAC) will have an ongoing role in providing advice to the Government on proposed initiatives to position Australia as a leading financial services centre. FSAC will also provide advice to the Treasury Taskforce.

FSAC was established by the then Treasurer in March 1998 as an independent non-statutory advisory body. FSAC brings together a number of financial sector experts to provide the Government with advice on policies that will maintain an efficient, competitive and dynamic financial sector, consistent with the objectives of fairness, financial stability and prudence.
